Just for the record . . .

If given the choice between listening to Billy Packer (left) or Dick Vitale do the color for a basketball game (as I was last night for the Duke/North Carolina game), Packer is the choice to make.

There may be some advertising relevance in there somewhere.

Give me a day or so to think about it.

When I was a kid, we watched our favorite college team (the school with the most wins in all of college basketball) on TV but would always turn the sound off. The radio provided the play by play for the game and this never seemed strange until I watched basketball at another kids house.

Every time I hear Dick Vitale’s voice I always reach for the mute button and wish I had a radio broadcast to listen to…BAAABY.

We used to like to listen to Maryland games with the radio on, but now there is a nearly 45-second delay between the TV and the radio. I've been known to watch in silence rather that listen to Dickie V to a Duke game.
